Unleash Your Child's
Creativity
What happens when a child with an
active imagination learns the real fundamentals of
fine art? Artistic miracles result and the child's
self-esteem literally
soars.
Fashioned from the same fine art
basics used for over 25 years in our renowned
adult program, our children’s program utilizes
Larry Gluck's revolutionary method of instruction
and proven techniques, providing each student with
the needed skills to unleash his or her creativity
and ability to produce beautiful works of
art.
Step-by-step, a caring, highly
trained instructor individually teaches each child
the ABCs of art.
Students, as
young as 5, begin gaining a solid foundation in
drawing techniques in their very first class.
Using a charcoal pencil and pastels, students
learn to build a drawing through the use of simple
shapes and how to create colorful, 3-dimensional
effects, resulting in their finished work looking
life-like.
Seeing the beaming faces of a
child and their parent when the student completes
their latest piece of art is one of the great
pleasures of instructing at Mission:

Students progress at

The
amazing world of watercolor is the next step for
students. Each student gains knowledge of the
materials used in watercolor and how to use them
to create beautiful paintings. Students also
learn the difference between primary and
complimentary colors and how to mix a wide array
of colors. The result is what can only be
described as "incredible" works of art.
Learning
to paint in oils is the student's next
adventure. A series of painting drills are
completed by the student, each helping to build
greater understanding and skill.

Students
learn the techniques used by great master painters
of the past, such as: Monet, Manet, Cezanne',
Rembrandt and more. With these techniques students
create amazing works of art and eventually their
own original paintings in whatever style they
choose.
