Cassidy painted this wonderful cat and autumn watercolor in one of our Southern California fine art schools at the age of 11.
An excellent contrast of black and white against the brown leaves coupled with detailed attention to dimension. Notice the illusion of depth given with the lightly colored leaves combined with the the blurred hint of leaves that provides an excellent feel of three dimensions
This is not a 11 year old art assignment, but truly a work of art. This watercolor painting was submitted to the Pentel International Art Contest. |

Watercolor is notoriously tricky to work with. Before turning our fine art students loose in the world of watercolor - or any painting for that matter - we first ground them with the The Gluck Method fundamentals of drawing.
