Mission Renaissance Adult Student
Fine
Art Gallery
|
This beautiful still life was painted by Sandy, one of our Mission Renaissance adult fine art students.
In a lovely arrangement of items the tea kettle is definately the center piece. The kettle is perfectly crafted, notice both the detail of light reflection captured, and the reflection of both the onion and squash in the teapot.

For our child, teen and adult drawing and painting fine art education programs we teach in proper gradients.
Take this still life peice that Sandy painted in the medium of oil. First we would have her draw and sketch still life objects in two dimension. Then we would teach her how to draw still life in three dimension. Then we would teach tone. Then light and shadowing. the next step would be teaching the use of oil paint. We then have our student paint in a gray tone as seen in the painting featured on this fine art gallery page. The next step after painting a few in this fashion would be the more difficult task of painting still life in color.
We find that this method of instruction gives the student a "win" sat each step thus not only building their confirdence, but ensuring that they truely learn each fundamental asscociated with fine art drawing and painting.
This prevents the student from becoming frustrated when asked to complete a too difficult task right awat and prevents the student from throwing in the towel because the lesson was too difficult.
You can see the use of teaching in proper gradients in both our online and DVD fine art drawing instruction courses for both children and adults.
